A wall cavity inspection uses a small, specialized camera (borescope) to look inside walls without unnecessary demolition.
This allows us to visually evaluate areas that would otherwise require opening the wall.
Moisture problems often develop behind drywall where they aren’t visible.
A visual inspection can help confirm:
• Whether suspected growth is actually present
• The general condition inside the cavity
• Whether conditions appear consistent with active moisture or a past moisture event
This type of inspection may be useful when:
• Mold is suspected but not visible
• There are signs of moisture or previous leaks
• You want confirmation before opening walls
• Air testing suggests a possible hidden issue
• A more direct visual assessment is needed
Wall cavity inspection provides direct visual confirmation of conditions inside concealed spaces.
It is often used alongside wall cavity air testing, which helps evaluate whether mold spores are present within the cavity.
Visual inspection helps answer: “Is something there?”
Air sampling helps answer: “Is it affecting the surrounding environment?”
A borescope inspection can:
• Provide direct visual evidence of conditions inside a cavity
• Help confirm whether suspected growth is present
• Offer insight into the general extent of an issue
However, it does not:
• Measure airborne mold levels
• Provide laboratory identification of growth
• Guarantee that all affected areas are visible or accessible
A limited borescope inspection may be incorporated into a mold inspection when conditions suggest concealed moisture or hidden growth may be present, typically at no additional charge.
Because concealed spaces can contain both visible and airborne concerns, wall cavity inspections are sometimes paired with cavity air sampling for additional context.
Depending on the situation, additional testing may be helpful:
• Wall Cavity Air Testing
• Air Sampling (Mold Spores)
• Surface Mold Sampling
